Euro account: receive SEPA transfers into Solid with your own IBAN (Wirex cards)
Wirex cardholders get a personal euro account with their own IBAN and BIC. How to open it, how SEPA deposits land as EURC in seconds, the deposit fee by tier, limits, and what is live versus coming soon.
Your Euro account is a personal euro account inside Solid, with your own IBAN and BIC. Send a SEPA transfer from any bank in the SEPA zone and it lands in your Solid balance as EURC within seconds. This article answers the most common questions, including exactly what it costs.
What is the Euro account?
A set of euro account details issued in your name: an IBAN and a BIC you can share with anyone who needs to pay you, or use to move money in from a bank account you already have. When a SEPA transfer arrives, the euros are converted 1:1 into EURC and delivered to your non-custodial Solid wallet.
The Euro account does not hold a separate balance of its own. Everything that arrives settles into the Solid wallet you already control.
Who can open one?
Anyone with a Solid card issued by Wirex. There is no second identity verification: the verification you completed for your card already covers the Euro account.
If your Solid card was issued by Rain, the Euro account is not available to you yet.
How to open it
- Open the Solid app and tap Add funds.
- Select Cash, then Euro, then SEPA transfer.
- Accept the terms and confirm a few details.
- Your IBAN and BIC appear in the app, ready to copy and share.
Opening the account takes a few seconds and is free.
Fees
There is no fee to open the Euro account, no monthly fee, and no FX fee. The only fee is a deposit fee based on your Solid Rewards tier, withheld from each incoming transfer before the EURC reaches your wallet.
| Tier | Deposit fee |
|---|---|
| Core | 0.5% |
| Prime | 0.25% |
| Ultra | Free |
Example: a Core user sending €1,000 receives 995 EURC. A Prime user receives 997.50 EURC. An Ultra user receives the full 1,000 EURC.
Euros convert 1:1 into EURC, so €1 in always equals 1 EURC in your balance, minus the deposit fee where it applies. Any fee under one cent is waived, and if the fee would take the whole deposit, nothing is withheld.
Your own bank may charge its own fees for sending a SEPA transfer, outside Solid. See Solid fees and limits: the complete overview for all tier fees.
Limits and timing
There is no minimum deposit. Transfers of up to €100,000 each are accepted. Once your bank sends the SEPA transfer, the EURC usually appears in Solid within seconds.
Frequently asked questions
Can I send money out of my Euro account?
Not yet. The Euro account is currently deposit-only. Outgoing SEPA transfers are coming soon.
Does my tier affect the account?
Only the deposit fee. Upgrade to Prime to halve it, or to Ultra to remove it entirely.
Can I spend my euros with my card?
Yes. With a Wirex card you can set Euro as your main currency and pay euro purchases straight from your EURC balance with no FX fee. See Euro cards: pick Euro as your main currency.
Can I receive my salary into it?
Yes. The IBAN is in your name, so you can give it to an employer, a client or a marketplace like any other euro account.
Is it the same as the US Virtual Account?
No. The US Virtual Account gives you US account details for ACH and wire, runs on Rain and has a one-time $10 opening fee. The Euro account gives you an IBAN for SEPA, runs on Wirex and is free to open. See Virtual Accounts on Solid.
Whose name is the IBAN in?
Yours. That is why it is only available once your card verification is complete.
Is Solid a bank?
No. Solid is a financial technology company, not a bank. The Euro account is provided through Wirex and its licensed partners. Once your EURC lands in your Solid wallet, it is non-custodial: you hold it, and Solid cannot freeze it or move it without you.
