Does Solid give me an IBAN?
Solid doesn't issue IBANs. How to pay in euros from your bank with SEPA, how to get paid by others, and what cash out to a bank supports today.
Solid doesn't issue IBANs or euro account details. You can still pay in euros from your own bank account, and you can get your own US account details for receiving payments. Here is what works today.
Pay in euros from your bank (SEPA)
If you're in the euro area, you can pay in from your own bank account by SEPA. The money lands in your card balance as dollars (USDC).
- Open the Solid app and tap Add Funds.
- Under Cash deposit, select EUR.
- Enter the amount, choose SEPA under Pay with, and review the rate, fees and the total you pay.
- Follow the on-screen payment instructions in your bank app, then tap I have made the payment.
You don't need an IBAN from Solid for this: the app shows you where to send the transfer for each order. The first time, you'll complete a quick identity check with our partner TransFi. Full details: Deposit your local currency into Solid.
Get paid by others
To receive payments from employers, clients or anyone else, open a Virtual Account. It gives you US account details in your name: an account number and a routing number for ACH and wire. These are US details, not an IBAN. Money that arrives is converted to dollars and lands in your Solid wallet. See Virtual Accounts on Solid.
Cash out to a bank account
Cash out to a bank account is available in Thailand (THB) only for now. You can't yet send money from Solid to a euro bank account. When more corridors open, they'll appear in the app and we'll announce them.
Frequently asked questions
Can I give my IBAN to my employer to get paid in euros?
No, Solid doesn't issue IBANs. You can pay in euros yourself by SEPA, as shown above, or receive dollars into a Virtual Account.
Can I set up a recurring SEPA transfer to Solid?
No. Each SEPA deposit is a separate order in the app, with its own payment instructions.
My card is a euro card. Does that give me an IBAN?
No. A euro card spends euros, but it doesn't come with account details. See Euro cards: two ways to spend euros with Solid at zero fees.
