How to recover my account

If you lost your laptop, changed devices, or can no longer access the one you normally use, you can recover your Solid account easily and securely.

Updated over a month ago

Solid uses passkeys, Safe smart contracts, and MPC, which means no one can access your funds even if they have your old device.

Follow these steps to regain access.

1. Log in from a new device

You can restore your account on any computer.
Go to: https://www.solid.xyz

Then:

  1. Click Login

  2. Choose your passkey

  3. Approve the login using your OS-level authentication (PIN/password/hardware key)

Your account will load instantly because access is tied to your passkey—not to a specific physical device.

2. If your passkey was stored on the lost device

If your passkey was stored on:

  • your laptop

  • your browser

  • iCloud Keychain

  • Google Password Manager

  • a hardware key

your funds are still safe. A stolen device does not allow anyone to access or withdraw your assets because:

  • the device requires its own login authentication

  • passkeys cannot be exported or copied

  • Safe wallets enforce security policies

  • No seed phrase exists to compromise

3. If you have a Solid Card, freeze it (optional but recommended)

If you think someone might still have an active session on your old device:

  1. Log in from your new device

  2. Go to Card

  3. Tap Freeze

This instantly blocks all spending.

4. If you cannot recover access

If you’re unable to log in from a new device or cannot access your passkey:

  • Contact Solid Support directly

  • We may request verification to confirm ownership

  • Our team will guide you through the recovery process
