Moving USDC or USDT off the Fuse network: gas and bridges

Funds you send out of Solid leave on the Fuse network. Inside Solid gas is free, but an external wallet needs a little FUSE for gas. Get FUSE with Swap in Solid, then bridge with Stargate or the Fuse Bridge.

Why this happens

Your Solid Wallet balances (USDC, USDT, WETH and other tokens) live on the Fuse network (Chain ID 122). Inside Solid, you never need gas: Solid pays it for you on sends, swaps and deposits.

When you tap Send and send USDC or USDT to an external address, the funds arrive in that wallet on Fuse. From that moment, the external wallet works like any other self-custody wallet: every transaction it makes, including bridging to another network, needs a small amount of FUSE to pay gas.

If the wallet holds USDT but zero FUSE, approvals and bridge transactions fail. This can look like "no bridge route works", but the routes exist. The wallet is simply missing gas.

Before you send out of Solid

  • Make sure the destination wallet supports the Fuse network. If it is an exchange, check that it accepts deposits of that token on Fuse before sending.

  • If you plan to bridge afterwards, send a little FUSE to the same external wallet too (see Step 1).

  • Start with a small test amount.

Step 1: Get a small amount of FUSE for gas

Fuse transaction fees are very low, so a small amount of FUSE covers several transactions. The easiest way is inside Solid:

  1. On the Wallet tab, tap Swap and swap a small amount of USDC or USDT to FUSE. The swap is gasless.

  2. Tap Send, choose FUSE, and send it to your external wallet address.

This also works if your USDT is already sitting in an external wallet with no gas: just send FUSE to that wallet from Solid.

You can also buy FUSE on an exchange such as MEXC and withdraw it on the Fuse network. See How to get FUSE into Solid for chain settings and how to add Fuse Network to MetaMask.

Step 2: Bridge to another network

Once your wallet has FUSE for gas, use either of these bridges:

  • Stargate: USDC, USDT and WETH on Fuse are Stargate tokens. Open the link with Fuse preselected as the source chain.

  • Fuse Bridge: the official bridge in the Fuse Console.

The flow is the same on both:

  1. Connect your external wallet and switch it to the Fuse network.

  2. Check that Fuse is the source chain and pick your token (USDC, USDT or WETH).

  3. Choose the destination network and enter the amount.

  4. Approve the token if asked, then confirm the transfer. Both transactions are paid in FUSE.

  5. Track the transfer on the bridge page. It usually completes within minutes.
